Read Past Newsletters Beginnings. Every year, I am skeptical about resolutions. But, this year, I am framing the concept of resolutions differently. Instead of seeing change as something of a burden, weighted, as something to dread, I see resolutions as something that can be tackled with grace, with ease, with effort. I like change usually after the fact. But, after all these years of writing about creativity, of examining other women's lives to understand what motivates or motivated them, I know that change can and must be embraced. There can be joy in the process. I am dedicated, this year, to embracing the changes I need to make in my life. Yes, I need very much to make changes in my life but if I can take the fear out of the equation it all seems more manageable. Thus, the resolution to approach change with courage, trust, and enthusiasm. If I stand still, I die. I am not prepared to do that quite yet. Many things to learn, to achieve, and to provide for others, hopefully, before I relinquish this body. Happy new year to all. |
NewsletterThe news as I see it. The usual political rhetoric at election time has finally begun. I like many of statements made by Obama though I believe he has shifted to a more politically correct middle ground. I wonder if he will continue to excite his early youthful followers. I am thinking of joining his campaign. I am slowly researching a new work. The hardest decision is whether I try it as a script or as a novel. I have begun a new monthly news column in my region of the country for women in business. I am on the 4th month of the column. It is intriguing to write about a topic, provide relevant information all within 400 words. I am used to writing about issues in the amount of space but it still strikes me as odd. Thanks for stopping by. |
